Shamir Highway, approximately 900 square meters long, named after Yitzhak Shamir, the seventh Prime Minister of the State of Israel. Its construction completed a continuous east-west traffic route, between the Beit Eliezer neighborhood in eastern Hadera to the Givat Olga interchange and the beach in the west of the city.

In addition to paving the road, the work also included priority lanes for public transportation, a ramp off Highway 2, construction of acoustic walls, new sidewalks, new street lighting, landscaping, tree planting and transplanting of mature trees, flowers and lawns along the route, advanced irrigation systems, and more. The project was completed within a year and 3 months from the time it began.
